Description
Sumatra coffees are famous for their peculiar flavor profile, low acidity, thick body, and rustic flavors that can often be described as earthy. Much of the flavor comes from the way Sumatras are processed, the wet-hull method, not to be confused with wet-processed coffee. The flavor of typical wet-hull Sumatra can be polarizing among buyers. This is one of our Roastmaster’s favorites, but Sumatra is a coffee that you usually either love or you don’t. There’s no in-between. Each coffee drinker has to discover if this type of flavor is right for him or her.
Tasting Notes: Low to medium acidity. Sweet brown sugar and earthy fragrance and aroma, red wine and herbal. Full body with slightly rustic cup. Lingering chocolate after taste.
