Description
Sumatra coffees are famous for their peculiar flavor profile, low acidity, thick body, and rustic flavors that can often be described as earthy. Much of the flavor comes from the way Sumatras are processed, the wet-hull method, not to be confused with wet-processed coffee. The flavor of typical wet-hull Sumatra can be polarizing among buyers. This is one of our Roastmaster’s favorites, but Sumatra is a coffee that you usually either love or you don’t. There’s no in-between. Each coffee drinker has to discover if this type of flavor is right for him or her.
Tasting Notes: Low to medium acidity. Sweet brown sugar and earthy fragrance and aroma, red wine and herbal. Full body with slightly rustic cup. Lingering chocolate after taste.
Production Time: All of our coffee beans are roasted to order. Our beans are NEVER shipped from inventory, so you NEVER have to worry about receiving stale coffee beans. But, if you give us a little extra time to schedule your order, we’ll pass our production savings on to you. Here’s how:
When placing your order, you have two options to choose from under “Production Time”:
- 1-2 business days
- 2-5 business days
If you choose the longer Production Time option (2-5 business days) you save $2 a bag on 12 oz bags.
But, if you need your coffee beans as soon as possible, then select the standard Production Time option of 1-2 business days.
Regardless whether you choose a longer lead time or not, rest assured that your beans will ship within 2 business days of roasting to make sure you have the freshest roasted coffee possible.
But remember, same freshly roasted beans either way.
